Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much
(Helen Keller)

As a parent and teacher, I realised we must all work in synch for the child to be able to realise their full potential. As my son Tom got older, I also became more aware that Summer camps were not an option. Autistic children need to learn at their own pace and in a more visual way. So, together with another parent, Mayo Autism Camp was set up, offering social events for autistic children and their families. During these activities it became more and more apparent that it is so important for a child to be regulated.

If a child is regulated, it has a positive effect on a child’s school and peer engagement. “A regulated child is a happy child”.
